Hi, We are switching over from using Tape Recorders to record student responses on the AP Spanish exam, to using Computers to digitally record responses and burn them to CD. Does anyone have suggestions for what software (for Windows XP) I can use to have them record their voices? The built in "Sound Recorder" doesn't seem like a good choice, and every solution I've tried either doesn't have the features I want, or has too many features such that it's too complicated. I'll even pay for the program if I can't get it for free. I just want something where you can see the waveform of what you've recorded, so you can visually see where you're at, and be able to "pause" the recording, then pick up recording when you hit pause again...and if possible a little bar you can slide back and forth along the waveform to "scrub" the sound (hear what you've recorded as you move the bar back and forward) so that they can find where they left off should they lose their place. And it should save as MP3. (I've tried: Ableton Live 7, Audacity, Audio Dementia, AudioRecorderForFree, Cantabile Lite, Easy PC Recording, Freecorder, FreeSoundRecorder, GuitarTab MP3 Recorder, Hi-Q Recorder, Perfect Sound Recorder, Super Mp3 Recorder Pro, Traverso DAW, and WavePad.)
